The Quijos valley

Between the Andes and the Amazonía, this small region gathers the conditions to be defined like outside of the common thing: beautiful, diverse and contrasting.

In this geography volcanos, lakes, rivers, cascades, caverns are gathered. From moor until forest, it is the habitat of countless species of wild life.
 

Water falls avenue

         

The region possesses a collection of impressive water falls that they are artistic works of the nature

Río Malo water fall:
Water jump of 50 meters high, surrounded of a beautiful natural environment. Variety of native birds and butterflies.

San Rafael water fall:
The jump of more height and volume of water of the Ecuador: 160 meters and 400 thousand liters per second, ! really spectacular !

They are countless the exotic places that it guards the jungla
  Refuge of life          
The Quijos valley is an embedded corridor among three protected areas.

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) it considers to the region like a "hotspots" or haven of high biodiversity concentration at Ecuador.
 
Eleven ecological systems concentrate in hardly 138 thousand hectares.

Cayambe-Coca (ER) Antisana (ER) Sumaco Napo-Galeras (NP)
  It is the protected area with bigger diversity of plants and animals in the Ecuador. Ten life zones are identified. Mega diversity concentrated on a small region. Here, the science locates a "Pleistoceno Refuge", inhabited by species originated in that remote time.
