La Campiña del Quijos is so near to Quito, in the gentle community of San Francisco of Borja, not very later on of Papallacta. Only at two hours toward the East of the Ecuadorian capital.

Ascent to the Andes:

From Quito until La Campiña del Quijos they are 100 kilometers of distance, approximately.

Driving by the highway that go toward the Amazonia (Papallacta-Baeza). It is a freeway asphalted under very good conditions.

Halfway the itinerary, to 50 kilometers, it crosses the highest point in the mountain range of the Andes to 4.000 on the level of the sea.  (Cross of Papallacta). We enter the Amazonía from an ecosystem of moors and lakes of high mountain.

Papallacta is a popular tourist destination, famous for its thermal waters.

Descent to the Amazonia:
 
 The route continues parallel to the Quijos river. In the descent it forms a deep canyon.

In hardly one hour, the ecological contrasts are presented like a captivating movie and it is enjoyed natural formations such as Pachamama and MamaOglio waterfalls or the Pivico crag.

If the weather allows it nothing else spectacular that the view of the Antisana volcano.
 
In Baeza the highway takes two directions. Toward the right it goes to the Tena city; toward the left, by the route toward El Chaco, our facilities are.

From here, they are hardly 7 more kilometers.

Other options: In the general bus station, all the buses that travel to Nueva Loja (Lago Agrio) or Francisco of Orellana (Coca) they cross by San Francisco of Borja.
